Solomon Grey

Problem: The duo Solomon Grey wants their music to be communicated through their brand and new album. They found their success by moving away from the UK and living on the coast of Ireland away from big cities. They found nature to be their sources of creative inspiration.

Target Audience: The people who enjoy house music and going to EDM festivals. The age range of the consumer would be between 18 to 30 years of age.

Solution: I found the idea of nature being their source of inspiration in itself inspiring. I decided to mash both technologic feel, which is their genre of music (house music) and images of Organic material to be very fitting to what their music could be visualized as.

Photography

The images of flowers were photographed and edited by me. Having an idea of what I wanted to design and why, I began collecting assets. searching and creating the correct graphic elements. Taking multiple shots with different camera settings to capture the shadows created by the sunlight and flowers in both soft and harsh manners.

CD Cover

The centerpiece for the front cover was designed to be bright and colorful. It does a good job of grabbing the attention of the viewer while communicating the album name. The CD received the same treatment to create a visual connection. The imagery is also consistent creating a connection between organic and digital.

Tour Poster

Taking into consideration what else the duo could use for their new look a poster was designed. The Poster contains locations and dates. The bright magenta flower takes left alignment which loosely connects back to the CD cover. The bricks are another index of where house music would be played.

Pamphlet

The CD insert contains the front cover and in addition a large scaled display of the logo. The interior contains the lyrics to their most popular song “Miradors” and a portrait of the duo.
